Sarb by Silsal x AYA The Art of Living
Last year, Silsal joined forces with female-founded design house, AYA – The Art of Living, to create Sarb. A celebration of life and nature, the mesmerizing collection pays tribute to the Arabian Peninsula’s most beloved birds. The unique collection features a symphony of species – the BulBul, Hoopoe, Falcon, European Goldfinch, Bee-Eater and Rock Pigeon – soaring across porcelain plates and circling graciously around vases. The collection aims to highlight these remarkable creatures, deconstructing and amplifying their natural beauty, while raising awareness about the importance of conserving their delicate natural habitats. When discussing the collaboration, AYA’s founder, Ayah Al Bitar, said: “I always believed in this African proverb, ‘If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together,’ and this is the perfect example of such a collaboration. We were able to push cultural boundaries and provoke thought with a powerful collection that speaks to the shared vision of both brands.”

Khaizaran by Silsal x Maya Toubia
When Silsal teamed up with acclaimed Jordanian illustrator, Maya Assad, the result was the pop-art inspired Hubb collection. Bright, bold and witty, the Hubb collection is an enthusiastic nod to the contemporary artistic movement that was born in the 1950s to a soundtrack of Rock ‘n Roll. The vivacious plays out in series of daring colour combinations – think turquoise and hot pink, cherry red and canary yellow, lime green and teal. The best bit? Each porcelain piece is emblazoned with oversized and over-the-top Arabic calligraphy, which spells out the word “Hubb”, meaning “Love”. Accents in contrasting colours, and achingly-cool black details finish the look.

Phoenicia by Silsal x Dee by Dalia
Bright colours, playful patterns and bold accents define Silsal’s Phoenicia collection, created in collaboration with fashion label, Dee by Dalia. Merging the worlds of fashion and lifestyle design, the limited-edition collection was brought to life with a contemporary mélange of palm fronds, colourful parrots and the protective evil eye – a nod to the fashion designer’s vibrant and irreverent style. When discussing the collaboration, Silsal’s founder and CEO, Samar Habayeb said, “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Dee by Dalia and continue championing the idea of personal style for the home. She is an undisputed master of fashion with a real knack for memorable prints, and this infuses every piece of the collection.”

Wurood by Silsal x Zayan the Label
Blurring the lines between fashion and lifestyle design once again, in 2019, Silsal joined forces with Zayan the Label, a contemporary fashion label known for its story-telling collections and embroidered designs. Together, they created the limited edition Wurood collection, which featured a parade of Arabic letters, which dance and swirl about one another. Each item was adorned with embroidered florals in striking hues of red, blue and yellow – a signature detail in Zayan The Label colourful collections.
